At Security Devices we use only the best materials and processes
in our work. Polycarbonate, Aramid and Kevlar are sourced from
responsible suppliers accredited to the ISO. Our own quality control
systems ensure that all our products meet stringent design requirements.
To test the
materials we use, we have built a fragmentation firing rig to
NATO standards.
Before finalising
the design work, the equipment is always subjected to rigorous
blast testing using real mines. Twenty-five sets of the Mk3 PPE
were blast tested in Afghanistan, Angola and Mozambique during
product development. Twenty of the
hand-tools were also blast tested in Angola and Mozambique.
Only when
we are confident that the equipment performs as designed in AP
blast situations, do we release the designs for production.
Our visors
and Mk1 aprons have been involved in at least twenty real incidents
and always performed as designed, protecting the wearer's face,
body, groin and thighs. The early hand-tools have also been involved
in prodding accidents. At least ten times the prodder has ended
up like the one of the right. Some of the users were back at work
after a few days of rest and recuperation.
We also have
the capacity to make new equipment to your requirements, and have
been doing so for some valued customers for several years. Tell
us what you want and we will do our best to help.
